Fitcoin is Live on Android

May 10, 2026 • By Harris Khan

It's done. As of today, Fitcoin is officially live on the Google Play Store. After months of building, testing, and chasing parity with the iOS app, our Android users no longer have to wait. You can install it right now and start earning FitCoin for every step, every workout, every active calorie.

Why this took as long as it did

I get asked this a lot, so let me be straight about it. We could have shipped a half-finished Android app months ago. We didn't. The iOS version sets a bar I wasn't willing to compromise on, and porting the whole experience properly took the time it took. Every screen, every animation, every reward flow had to feel like it belonged on Android, not like an afterthought.

The version going live today has been tested on a stack of real phones, including Pixel, Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi, and runs on almost any Android phone made in the last five years. If your phone is reasonably recent, you're sorted.

Full parity with iOS

Whatever phone you carry, the experience is the same. Your steps, workouts, and active calories build your daily FitScore. That FitScore tops up your FitCoin wallet. You spend FitCoin in the marketplace on real discounts at gyms, cafés, and lifestyle brands. Streaks, leaderboards, and the spin wheel all carry across.

Switching phones is fine too. Sign in with the same account on your old iPhone and new Android, or the other way around, and your FitCoin balance, streak, and friends are right there waiting for you. You don't lose anything.

A few things worth knowing

The first time you open the app, it will ask for permission to read your steps and workouts. We only use that to work out your FitScore. We don't store your raw activity data on our servers and we don't sell it to anyone, ever. That hasn't changed since day one and it never will.

Premium subscribers (the blue tick) are cross-platform. Buy it on iOS and you keep it on Android. Buy it on Android and you keep it on iOS. Whichever phone you use that day, the badge stays with you.

Signing in is the usual two options. Tap "Sign in with Google", or pop in your email and we'll send you a magic link. Same as iOS, no new accounts to make.

What's next

Now that both apps are out the door, the focus shifts to growth and the partner network. We've got a list of cities and brand integrations we want to roll out over the next quarter, and the marketing engine is finally allowed to spin up properly. Expect more pins on your map, more challenges, and a few partnerships I'm excited to announce in the coming weeks.

A genuine thank you to everyone who joined the Android waitlist over the last year. You waited a long time. I hope it was worth it.
